RHONDA DIXON - OWNER/DIRECTOR
Gymnastics has been an integral part of Rhonda's life since childhood. She was a prominent member of the Kingston High School gymnastics team while a student there, and later went on to become the head coach. Rhonda also served as coach for various community and private club gymnastics programs prior to opening Excel. As owner, director, recreational class instructor and team coach Rhonda has played a key role in the experience of every child who has participated in our programs. Rhonda is a professional member of USA Gymnastics and is USAG Safety Certified. In addition, Rhonda is certified in CPR and First Aid.
ALLISON TOSI - HEAD TEAM COACH
Allison is a graduate of Marist College with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She received her Master's Degree in School Psychology from Long Island University and is currently employed as a School Psychologist. Allison has been coaching gymnastics for 19 years and has worked at Excel since 2001. She is a professional member of USA Gymnastics and is USAG Safety Certified. Allison is CPR & First Aid certified as well. In addition to her coaching responsibilities at Excel Gymnastics, Allison also coached Gymnastics at Onteora High School for four years and the Kingston High School team for five years of undefeated competitions. Additionally, Allison began judging gymnastics when she was 17 years old, and currently holds a USA Gymnastics National Judges rating. She is a member of NAWGJ (National Association of Women's Gymnastics Judges) and of NYSOGG (New York State Officials of Girls Gymnastics.)
DAN HASSOUN - HEAD TEAM COACH
Dan was a successful gymnast while attending Shaker High School in Latham, NY. In addition, Dan competed in the Empire State Games and on the SUNY Cortland men's gymnastics team. Dan graduated from SUNY Cortland with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. He received his Master's Degree in Community Health Education from Sage Graduate School and is currently employed as a Physical Education teacher. Dan has been coaching gymnastics for 20 years and has worked at Excel since 2010. He is a professional member of USA Gymnastics and is USAG Safety Certified. Dan is CPR & First Aid certified as well. In addition to his coaching responsibilities at Excel Gymnastics, Dan also coached gymnastics at FDR High School for 8 years and has been a volunteer for the New York State Special Olympics.
DEBBIE SCHOONMAKER - COMPULSORY TEAM COACH
AMY ROMANO - PRE TEAM INSTRUCTOR
Amy is a graduate of SUNY Cortland with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology. Amy participated in gymnastics programs throughout her youth before pursuing other sports. Amy valued both the physical and mental skills developed through gymnastics training and the positive effect those skills had on the other sports and academic activities she was involved in. In order to pass those skills on to others, Amy began coaching gymnastics at the age of 16. She has been coaching at Excel since 2006. Amy is a professional member of USA Gymnastics and is certified in CPR and First Aid.
KERRI WEBBER - PRE TEAM & RECREATIONAL INSTRUCTOR
Kerri has made working with children a priority in her life. She has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Reading/Literacy. She has worked in various gymnastics programs for the past 15 years, including coaching the Rondout Valley Modified and High School teams. Kerri has worked at Excel since 2010 and continues to be an asset to the recreational and pre-team programs!
ARLENE CAMPBELL - PRE TEAM & RECREATIONAL INSTRUCTOR
Arlene has been a teaching recreational and pre-team gymnastics classes for 16 years, and has been working at Excel since 2000. Arlene works with children of all ages and ability levels; teaching Tiny Tots, Tumble Bears, School Age and Pre-Team classes. Arlene is First Aid & CPR certified.
